Summer is here and the livin' is easy.......I guess a little too easy. Seems that creativity suffers when we have too much time on our hands, or rather have time to do things we would normally not do. For a creative type you would expect that they would use this time to explore some new concept, or work on existing projects. NOT! I'm discovering more everyday that particularly with my students the hardest part is just getting out and doing something!
Here's my suggestion list:
1) Do SOMETHING creative everyday!
2) LOOK for a different viewpoint on a familiar subject.
3) Work with one technique until you have fully learned all you can do with it.
4) Be open to new ideas.
5) Get out of the RUT! Find a new way to do something you do the same way repeatedly.
By taking a few of these suggestions and forcing yourself out of your comfort zone, you'll find you will not only spark some new creativity but you will realize a fresh interest in most of your work.
Get out there and have fun!
